MARG BALLENTINE
January 8, 1917 – March 17, 2018

Anna Margaret Ballentine, age 101, passed away peacefully on March 17, 2018 at Extendicare Parkside in Regina, Saskatchewan.

She was predeceased by her daughter Jean Caroline age 2 in 1948, her husband Ray age 94 in 2011 and her sister Helen.

She is survived by her 105 year old sister Doris in Kelowna, BC, her son Jim & his wife Margo in Australia, her daughter Peggy & her husband Jerry Voll in Regina, Saskatchewan; four grandchildren Jason Ballentine & wife Tara in Austin, Texas, Michelle Green & husband Chris in Australia, Angela Voll & partner Ken in Duncan, BC and Laura Reader & husband Sean in St Albert, Alberta; five great granddaughters Tesla, Katherine, Jordan, Haley & Poppy and one great grandson Owen.

Anna Margaret Nelson was born in Moose Jaw on January 8, 1917. She came to Shaunavon to accept a nursing position in 1942 and married Ray Ballentine on October 30, 1942. She nursed for many years in the hospital in Shaunavon.

Marg was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved to play bridge and was an avid reader – she was noted for her jokes and to recite poems at coffee parties as she liked to make people laugh.

She loved to travel; Marg and her husband Ray went to Europe, Mexico, Hawaii ten times, Australia four times and spent twelve winters in Arizona.

They moved to Regina in 2006 to be closer to their daughter Peggy and her husband Jerry. They lived at The Bentley, a senior retirement complex, where they made many new friends and always said they were blessed to have so many years together. Marg spent four years at a lovely private care home, Gardiner Point and then her final two years at Extendicare Parkside where she had total care by the kind staff looking after her.
